The
mission of MunroeDesign is simple, to give you the Evolutionary
Edge™. We strive to produce the finest quality, most thoroughly
engineered and tested bladeware and accessories available on the
planet Earth.
Based in the beautiful
Gallatin Valley, Montana, the MunroeDesign Team was founded on the
ideals of innovation and performance. MunroeDesign products are
born in some of the wildest places in North America. We know what
it's like to count on a piece of gear, whether for your food, your
comfort, or even your life. That's why we use what we design, and
we carry what we build. All of our products are proudly made in
Montana by natives using 98% USA-made raw materials
(Damasteel and Stellite account for the other 2%).

D.
C. Munroe - Bladesmith, Armorer, Grindermonkey
Deryk is the main
source of engineering and labor for the MunroeDesign team. A lifelong
fascination with armament led him to create his first knife in 1984,
and he followed a somewhat circular path to becoming a full-time
knifemaker in 1997. Exploring the various aspects of the craft has
driven him ever since and a wide range of blade styles including
mosaic art, combat, swords, and utility knives have been designed
and created in his shop. Getting him out of the mountains and off
the firing range are the keys to timely production. |

Jana
Munroe - Webmonkey, Logistics, Customer Support
Jana has been involved
with the custom knife industry since 1997. In addition to providing
logistical support and creating some handmade knives and jewelry
of her own, she also managed a retail knife store/gallery in downtown
Bozeman, MT. An avid climber, she'd probably rather be on top of
a mountain somewhere, but does enjoy doing the web design, coding,
and logistics for the MunroeDesign team. |

Jim
Carlson - R&D, Performance Testing, Shopmonkey
Jim, an avid hunter
and outdoorsman, is the primary field testing agent for MunroeDesign
products. He's been exploring the plains and mountains of Montana
since childhood, and enjoys spending his spare time devising new
and devious ways to torture knives and gear ;)
